ACUITY was originally founded in 1992 in Menlo Park, CA to develop laser distance sensors and laser measurement systems for industrial and OEM use. Today our sensors are used in applications from steel casting to paper production to medical imaging, from crane control to micron-level part and surface inspection. Acuity is a product line of Schmitt Measurement Systems, Inc. Schmitt Measurement Systems is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Schmitt Industries, Inc of Portland, OR.

Internationally, Acuity maintains over twenty distributor channels, each with highly-trained sales engineers who are prepared to assist you with your toughest application challenges.  Within the US, Acuity has over fifty manufacturers representatives who can call on you to demonstrate the laser sensor’s benefits for factory automation.
